What is screened topsoil?

Screened topsoil has been screened by removing larger clods of soil, roots, stones and other matter from the soil. Screening is processed according to size, so soil screened to 10 mm will contain no lumps or objects more than 10 mm in diameter.

What is the screening process?

Screened topsoil is produced by passing natural topsoil through a mesh or screen. This process helps to separate larger particles, such as stones, roots, and vegetation, from the soil.

Is screened topsoil good for landscaping?

Yes, our screened topsoil is commonly used in landscaping projects, including lawn establishment, flower beds, and garden beds. It provides a fertile and well-draining foundation for plant growth.

Is your screened topsoil good for construction projects?

Yes, we are major suppliers to the construction sector. Our screened soil is often used in construction projects to raise levels and create a suitable base for turf, sod, or seeding. It helps establish a stable and fertile surface for vegetation and improves compaction and better drainage.

Are there different grades of screened soil?

Yes and we are able to supply screened soil to fulfil the particle size and soil texture requirements of your earthwork requirements and to BS3882:2015 Certification.

What is the cost of your screened topsoil?

The cost of our screened topsoil can depend on factors such as location, quantity, and delivery requirements. We are highly competitive and we always offer a best price quote. Click the link for a quick turn-around online quote.

where it comes from

Our aggregate materials are obtained from our quarries in Stamford and Rutland, and other surrounding areas.

Most quarry material is naturally formed, so shape, size and colour will vary. It all comes down to the screening process to achieve uniform and consistent material properties. Aggregates are as good as their processing. Through mining, crushing, washing and separating, these processes only, when delivered skillfully with the best machine technology and workforce, can produce a quality aggregate. And that success relies on our industry’s hardworking men and women and our great team here at Bullimore Aggregates.
