HARDCORE AGGREGATE
We supply a range of hardcore aggregates used as a formation material to fill irregularities in excavations and ensure a firm and level working base can be laid to accommodate load-bearing and heavy surfaces, such as stone or concrete.
For the building sector, we supply hardcore aggregate in bulk for various infrastructure and construction uses, including MOT Type 1 and recycled hardcore aggregate, which is competitively priced and highly versatile. Our recycled hardcore aggregate is often used for road construction, bulk fills, and to create noise barriers.
For the domestic market, we can supply hardcore aggregate to support all DIY projects. Supplying hardcore base material for sheds, patios, driveways and artificial grass.

YOUR AGGREGATE CALCULATIONS
When ordering aggregates, understanding what quantities you need is extremely important. Too few aggregates can lead to additional deliveries, wasting time and money. On the other hand, too many aggregates can lead to wastage.
Aggregates are usually ordered in tonnes. The standard aggregate calculation is typically: Multiply the width, length and depth of your area. It’s important to note that the depth of your area will vary depending on the aggregate type, its size variation, and the intended application.
As a simple guide, see below:
- 10mm Aggregate will need a depth of 30-40mm, but on a driveway, this would need to be at least 50mm.
- 20mm Aggregate would need a depth of at least 40-50mm, and at least 50-60mm on driveways.
Please note:
The aggregate calculator’s calculated tonnage is approximate. The exact conversion will depend on a few other factors, such as the bulk density of aggregate, the method and degree of compaction, and more.
